Reserve Classroom Space for Meetings or Special Events
Schedule space for a meeting or special event
If space is available, you may be able to schedule a classroom for a one-time meeting or special event. The Office of the Registrar handles scheduling of classroom space for special events.
Depending on the category your meeting or event falls into, there may be a fee associated with classroom rental. (Note that being an IU Indianapolis employee or a member of an external group will not affect the reservation fee charged to the group.)
Instructional use for credit courses
Instructional use for noncredit courses
Academic support activities (e.g., placement testing or orientation)
Faculty/staff meetings
Meetings of groups with a direct and obvious connection to IU Indianapolis(e.g., speakers sponsored by a department, programs directed toward students)
Functions sponsored by university-recognized student organizations
Meetings of nonprofit agencies
Meetings of civic groups
State and federal agencies
Groups charging for testing services other than IU Indianapolis placement exams
External users (at the discretion of the facility owner) provided the use is consistent with the mission of the university and the goals of the academic unit (e.g., a law review course)
Space cannot be used for nonuniversity fundraising or for religious services. Religious organizations may request space for meetings if sponsored by a recognized student organization.
Registered student organizations interested in reserving a classroom for a meeting or event must submit a request through the event submission form on The Spot. When you fill out the form, you will be asked details on the event so that we can loop in the necessary campus partners and you’ll be able to choose your desired locations. The desired location/campus partners will reach out utilizing the comment section of the event form if they have any questions. Email us at stuact@iu.edu for any questions or concerns.
